Editorial standards

Every number on this site links to the source it came from, errors are corrected openly, and AI assistance is disclosed. We give no dosing advice, and we say who publishes the site wherever the shop the same team runs appears.

How we source facts

  • Primary sources first: peer-reviewed studies (with PubMed IDs where they exist), ClinicalTrials.gov records and protocols, FDA drug labels, the Federal Register, state agency rules and poison center reports. We use news coverage only to find the primary document.
  • Every factual claim is cited in the text and listed in the page's sources section.
  • Numbers carry their denominator and the kind of study behind them. A placebo-controlled trial, a survey and a case report are different kinds of evidence, and we say which is which.
  • We note study funding and authors' conflicts where they bear on a finding.
  • Anything we can't confirm against the primary document is left out or attributed to whoever reported it.
  • No reviews, testimonials, ratings, awards or anecdotes, and no quotes from people we didn't interview.

Corrections

If you find an error, email editors@magicmushroomdosagecalculator.com with the page, what's wrong and a source if you have one. We check it against the primary source. If we got it wrong, we fix the page and update its date, and when a correction changes a finding or a number, we add a note at the end of the page saying what changed and when. We don't quietly remove errors.

How we use AI tools

Drafts on this site are written with AI tools. The editors check each draft against the primary sources it cites before it's published, and an automated check flags citations without a source, amounts that look like doses, and broken links. Illustrations are made with an AI image tool, show objects only, and are captioned "AI illustration."

Ownership and links to the shop

This site is published by the team that runs My Mushroom Dispensary, an online shop for adults 21+ (see About). We sell no advertising and nothing on this site, and we take no payment for coverage.

Links to the shop appear on a short list of pages where a reader looking for a calculator, a strain, capsules or microdosing information may want them: the home page, the calculator audit, the tolerance calculator page, strain potency, capsule labels and microdosing research, plus one link in the About page's ownership note. On those pages, apart from About, the shop appears in a box with a fixed line: "Disclosure: My Mushroom Dispensary is run by the same team that publishes this site. Adults 21+ only. Ordering psilocybin is illegal under federal law, and no state allows it by mail."

The interactions reference, who should avoid psilocybin, the overdose and help pages, the potency data, the glossary and news posts never link to the shop. The shop's own calculator is excluded from the audit counts.

No dosing advice

We publish no amounts to take, no schedules, and no instructions for preparing or storing mushrooms. When a page reports an amount, it's what a study measured or what trial participants received, presented as a finding about that study. Potency percentages are lab measurements, and we don't convert them into amounts to take. Why we work this way.

Dates and updates

Each page shows when it was last checked or updated. News posts carry the date of the event they report and are only changed afterward to correct errors. If you see something out of date, tell us.
